I had a bad experience because I made an appointment with these people. I get there and they tell me it got canceled because there was no doctor in. Thanks for letting me know at the very last moment when I arrived and tried to get checked in. Not to mention i drove almost an hour just to not get seen.
From the moment I entered the offices of Shreveport Eye Specialists and after several visits and treatments, my eyes are in their best shape since I was a teenager, so many, many years ago. Every member of the staff I encountered was smiling, friendly and very efficient. My anxieties were put to rest by the clearly explained options for treatment. I would wholeheartedly recommend Dr. VanNorman and Dr. Meyer-Borel to anyone in need of eye care without reservation of any sort.
(NEW INFO ADDED IN RESPONSE) Twice now has closed early so when I show up to pick up contacts, no one is there. It’s very inconvenient when I leave work early with two small children and no one is there when they say they are supposed to be. Please keep someone there until 5pm when you close!!! ******It won't let me reply to you, but for some clarification: -The hours online say until 5pm, the hours on your door say until 5pm, and other patients were there with me trying to pick up their contacts/glasses on both occasions. So your explanation of "we tell our patients we close at 4:30" hasn't been working (or isn't real). -Lastly, when I arrived, it was technically 4:28pm and the doors were already locked and the lights off. You didn't leave at 4:30. You left earlier. I'm nitpicking because your responded like I arrived after your closing hours, but you leave whenever you feel like it. Which is fine, but don't be surprised when people are unhappy for leaving work early to pick up something from a retail shop that doesn't stay open as long as it says it will. Best experience I have ever had at an eye doctor. Dr. Van Norman took the time to listen and advised me on the best route to take with my eyes and the surgery turned out great!
A very quick and easy experience! Everyone was extremely friendly, helpful and efficient. I have used many eye care providers and never found any of them that felt as professional and customer/patient focused. I have found my forever eye care home. Thank you all so much!
Dr Rachel Meyer-Borel and her incredibly friendly and accomplished crew are a breath of fresh air. I've been wearing glasses since 1966. 58 years. I don't think I've ever had a better experience. Fast, considerate, thorough, relaxed, and professional. The doc is very personable and great to work with. I was completely satisfied with my exam and I highly recommend Dr R.M-B and crew. Dr. Russ Van Norman and the staff at Shreveport Eye Specialists are AMAZING. They took care of me and they were so patient with me making sure that I understood everything that they were doing. I would highly recommend them.
Friendly and professional service from all the staff. As both I and my wife were both moving forward with lens replacement, the consultation provided us a very thorough understanding of the process to replace our eye lenses and the options available to each of us.
We found Dr. Van Norman to be very compassionate and an excellent surgeon.
Did not have an appointment. Called and went in. Staff kind, friendly, got me back within 30 min to see the Dr. Borel, She was amazing. Really good chair side manor. Moving forward I will not go anywhere else. Great improvement in just a few hours.
The staff was very friendly, kind and knowledgeable. I was hyped up from an energy drink and was talking way to much and they put up with it and were actively engaged. It made for a great environment and experience I highly recommend them.
I can't say enough about Rachel and Dr. Burrell! They were super knowledgable and sweet and funny! Dr. Burrell provided the first real option to help my eyesight and Ive been looking for an answer all of my life. Also, noone has ever explained to me exactly what my eye condition is and why. She took the time to explain it to me. The entire staff was incredible and fast without rushing the process.

Extremely Well organized office from front desk to the eye exam itself. Dr Borel was professional, quick and thorough exactly how I want things to go when it comes to a necessary exam. In addition their selection of eyeglasses couldn't have been better.
Dr Van Norman did surgery on both of my eyes. One on Wednesday, the other on Thursday. I went in wearing glasses, came out wearing UV protecting shades. I chose the light adjusting lens. Dr Van Norman is the best. The staff at the Eye Surgery Center were caring, & considerate. My nurses were caring, and considerate of my needs. My anesthesia nurse was the best. My OR nurses were kind, considerate and took care of me from beginning to end of my surgeries. Dr Van Norman is the best. He knows what he’s doing. I wouldn’t have trusted another doctor to do my surgery. He has the greatest chair, side manner. He’s compassionate and caring. He has changed my life. It is amazing to wake up in the mornings & not grab for my glasses. It’s amazing to be able to see so clear and crisp. The colors are wonderful too. Thanks to Dr Van Norman and staff. I also want to thank Dr. Borel for doing my follow ups after each surgery. I like her. She answered all my questions and made me feel comfortable and at ease.
Wife was diagnosed with glaucoma here and cataracts went to get second opinion different eye clinic they discovered I did not have glaucoma or cataracts please please don’t go here the girl was super rude even sent me outside after dialating eyes without any protection I felt abused here and lied to gina offutt .
This place is awesome I love the staff and doctors. They are concerned about your eyesight and take direct action in assisting with your eyecare needs.
This place is very modern on it's designs. Clean and fresh. The doctor I saw was knowledgeable and I trusted her with my eyes. I would recommend them to my friends.
The staff is friendly and helpful. They took the time to explain each process with me and made sure I didn't have any questions. No long wait times. They get you in and out without feeling like they're trying to rush you.
Beautiful office, helpful staff, large selection of frames. Great connection with Dr. Meyer-Borel. Long wait time for a first visit. Otherwise highly recommend.
