Similar to a scratch-resistant coating, anti-reflective coating is made of a very hard thin film that is layered on the lens. Anti-reflective coating make your eyeglass lenses nearly invisible, while eliminating lens reflections that could cause glare.UV coatings on prescription clear lenses are generally as effective as those on sunglasses. It is not the dark tint that is important, but the way the lenses are crafted which protect the eyes from ultraviolet radiation. Plastic lenses need to have a UV coating applied, while polycarbonate lenses can block UV rays without an additional coating.
