With the launch of our new website, we knew people would get a good fresh look at WHAT Shreveport Eye Specialists is (general ophthalmology + laser vision correction medical practice). And if you drive by you can even see WHERE our practice is (8445 Line Avenue Suite 200, Shreveport, LA). One thing you won’t notice; however, is the most important thing about our wonderful practice – WHY we are here, and WHY we offer a truly unique patient experience.

For the real scoop, we want to go right to the source and hear from Dr. Van Norman himself on what drives him to offer the very best in outcomes and patient experience. When asked, this is what he had to say….
”When I started my own practice in 2017 I had a vision. I wanted to do my own thing and do it the right way. I am exceedingly qualified in my medical skills, and make sure I hand pick everyone on my staff. It’s because I want to guarantee my patients have the best experience from a service perspective. Make Them Feel Good
To go above and beyond the usual patient experience Dr.Van Norman had to have a little bit of a different… vision? He KNOWS patients can have great outcomes, efficient scheduling/billing/etc, AND they can feel good too!! We know sometimes, coming to the eye doctor can maybe be a little stressful. Which is why you will find our staff supremely considerate and friendly. And why our building, inside and out, was designed to be pleasant to look at and to sit in. Come see the artwork for yourself!

Roots
And certainly not least, Dr. Van Norman is 100% Louisiana born-and-bred through and through! He loves this amazing state and the even more amazing people who live here. He was born in southern Louisiana, and between school and his medical career, he has been north to south and every beautiful place in between. He’s just a regular family guy who avidly loves doing anything outdoors. And as a sports nut he loves the fact his three sons keep life busy with full schedules in basketball, lacrosse, and football.

Let’s repeat… He is the most highly trained corneal specialist in the entire REGION. He spent two years training in a prestigious cornea fellowship at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. And of course is thoroughly versed in ophthalmic disease management and all leading cataract and Premium IOL procedures.
Dr. Van Norman has over 20 years in eyecare and has performed over 20,000 ophthalmic procedures in his career. He excels at procedures such as corneal cross-linking, MIGS, and of course LASIK and all cataract replacement techniques.
