Brooke recently completed her LASIK procedure with Dr. Russ. Let’s hear about her experience.

Why did you come to Shreveport Eye with Dr. Van Norman?

I actually came to work here initially but then decided it was time to get my vision corrected.

What specific procedures did Dr. Van Norman perform?

I scheduled LASIK eye surgery with Dr. Russ.

What were your symptom/issues?

Having to wear glasses and contacts kept getting in the way of living. I was very near-sighted so if I lost my glasses and had no contacts, I couldn’t really do anything.

What can you do/see now that you couldn’t before?

I can walk through my house at night without glasses and be able to see clearly. I can wear sunglasses without needing contacts. I can see at a much further distance!

What was your experience with the procedure?

The experience was interesting since I had to be awake for it. Being able to witness the lenses being “removed” and then put back on was a little scary but Dr. Russ made me feel so comfortable.

Would you recommend this to others? Why?

Absolutely! It was a life changing experience especially for someone who has worn glasses for 25 years.

Dr. Van Norman is very thorough and comforting throughout the entire process starting at the LASIK evaluation. During surgery he kept me calm and made me feel comfortable. He explained every step of the surgery in a way that makes a person know they’re in the best hands!
